Death by FUN

Remember my FUN ROOM?  Well, it is still fun.  For the kids anyway.  But you see, when we (and by “we” I mean, “My husband”) painted the door in the FUN ROOM with dry-erase paint, we *ahem* forgot to specify to our four-year-old that the door frame was not dry-erase.

Oopsieeeeee.

So, Sunday I spent a great deal of time scrubbing dry-erase marker off the door frame.  First with dry-erase marker remover (ineffectual) and then with hairspray (slightly less ineffectual) and THEN I went to Rite Aid an spend some +UP Rewards on the best invention EVER, the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.  And I scrubbed that dry-erase marker right off that door frame.  I am now a firm believer in good ol’ Mr. Clean.   But it took a LOT of “elbow grease” to get all that marker off the wall.

And my back, neck, and shoulders hurt like a MOTHER.  I do not know what I did with that scrubbing, but I messed myself UP.  Four days later, and it’s just getting worse.  I’ve been sleeping with pain patches on my neck and back at night, and have to take some good old “PM” drugs just to get to sleep it hurts so bad.

As I sit here this morning, it’s not feeling any better. I think I’m broken.

Which is why, I’m going to be like Mrs. Duggar, and just get myself totally made over with robotic parts.  Because clearly, that is the only way all that Duggar business is possible!   I may start rusting after awhile but at least I won’t feel the pain!

  1. Way to steal my Mrs. Duggar line before I could say it!

I’ve always been a Mr. Clean fan, it’s a great look!

  2. My house would not survive without the Magic Eraser! I have a 4 year old and a very rambunctious 2 year old. Somehow the 2 year old manages to find crayons where they shouldn’t be and colors on the walls regularly. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Magic Eraser!

  3. I missed your post on the fun room, but when I saw this, it made me smile. Not for your scrubbing adventures and pains, but because just yesterday, I used magnetic paint and today, will be using the chalkboard paint. I am redoing my son’s room because he has been stuck in a “nursery” room since Claire moved into the bigger room with Lydia. We were looking through magazines and he liked one that had a chalkboard hanging in the room. Couldn’t find a chalkboard the size we wanted, so decided to make one. I am hopeful that the magnetic paint really works as good as it looks like the dry board and chalk board paint did for you!

  4. AND if you go to the dollar store and get the generic, cause I know you like to save money, they work just as well I have found…I buy those in bulk at my house!!

  5. You know shortly after I wallpapered my kitchen my kids decided they were going to color on my walls. (I only had 2 and they were YOUNG) I was MAD. So to make my point CLEAR I made them clean it off to their best ability first. After their best attempts. I finished it up. Nothing like a white towel and hot iron to get crayons out of wallpaper…
