For Your Convenience

In case you haven’t marked it on your calendar, I’ll do you a favor and remind you that my 32nd birthday is this Saturday. Now you may not think that 32 is a big deal, but to me, every birthday is a big deal! I loooove my birthday. I think birthdays should be a whole WEEK long. And since today is the first day of September, I figure it’s time to start celebrating! This year I am celebrating that even though I am going to be 32, I don’t look a day over 29-and-a-half. Really, something to jump for joy about!

Because I am a thoughtful person, and because I know you all live busy lives, I have put together a birthday wish list for your convenience. I figure you, as my readers, will be wanting to shower me with gifts, and it would just be easier for you if I tell you what I want. So, here goes.

1) An iPod Touch or an iPhone. Please note I’d only like the iPhone if you’re also willing to pay for the monthly fee it will add to my phone bill.

2) These UltraFit Audrey Slim Leg jeans by Lands’ End. Size 8×30, Rinsed Deep Indigo, please!

3) This Suede Hobo Bag from Lands’ End – LOVE! I would love it in Aztec Gold. But I’ll be flexible. Whatever color YOU think would look best on my shoulder!

4) And just about every sweater Lands’ End has listed. I need to be cozy and cute this winter. So feel free to just go crazy!

5) These Lily flats from Crocs. I NEED these for fall! Size 8, Gold/Chocolate

6) As you know I am quite intellectual and love to read. So, there are a couple of books I’d like you to get for me for my birthday: Best Friends Foreverby Jennifer Weiner and Pretty in Plaidby Jen Lancaster (whom I met at BlissDom and semi-stalked at BlogHer.)

7) This Pilates video: I have two others in this series and I really love them. I want this one for when I am ready to step up my exercise a level. (Don’t laugh! It’s not funny! Well, ok, it’s kind of funny. But I’m SERIOUS!)

8 ) And last, but certainly not least, I would like one of you to potty train Sophie for me. That would truly be a PRICELESS gift that keeps on giving! Cause I really, really, REALLY don’t wanna do it. But I also really, really, REALLY don’t want to change her poopy diapers anymore. SO if you could take care of that for me…well that would pretty much be the best birthday ever!

Sophie's not sure about this!

And really, why wouldn’t you want to take hours upon hours to teach this precious child where to deposit her excrement? It’s like I’m giving you a gift!

Ok, 4 more days! Get shopping!! 🙂

  1. OMG! This family is so strange…Shelby celebrates her “birthday week” and has for years! Must be GENETIC!

and BTW – Aunt Judy potty trained me in a week…of course, she hasn’t been willing to pay for the 40 years of therapy that followed!

    Good luck with that one.

  2. You should have married my husband- he insists that birthdays should be celebrated for a whole week. So in our household, the birthday boy/girl gets pampered for a whole week- it’s really quite nice when you are the recipient. Of course, it’s a lot of work when you are the person having to do the pampering. 😉

  3. You are way out of control!! But I love ya! You are absolutely an amazing person and friend! I am all for a week long celebration! But can’t wait to hang on your real birthday and probably sometime in between : )
IF you get any extras on that purse,I will gladly take it off your shoulders for you! And the shoes since we wear the same size and all!

  4. I have Pretty in Plaid…you can have it when I’m finished…nothing like used birthday gifts!

But it’s the thought that counts, right?

  5. On my friend’s birthday, her youngest son (who I think was 3 at the time) time decided that he would give up diapers and start using the potty, as a birthday present to her… Which he did and was good to go ever since. So here’s hoping your birthday wish will come true.

  6. I celebrate birthday weeks too!! Hello? Doesn’t everyone? 🙂 Guess not.

It’s just too bad that I’m so far away, because I had totally planned on potty training Sophie for you, but the travel and time off from work is just not going to work. Sorry!!!!

Hope you have a SUPER day!

  7. There is nothing wrong with birthday weeks. I once managed a birthday month but the husband put the kibosh on that.
I love Jen Lancaster. I devoured all of her books in two weeks.

  8. My birthday is Monday. Isn’t it nice that they centered a whole holiday around just us. I think so.

Check out Blogger Dad’s site. He just had a series about potty training his little boy. I think they did it in a weekend or something crazy like that.

    And happy birthday.

  9. John still insists he’ll make me a birthday cake… which should have been done over 3 MONTHS AGO!

I’d potty train Sophie for you, but I don’t think she’d like it much. When the kiddos were little we used to celebrate a successful potty with a special song I wrote (ok, I mostly copied it from Mr. Rogers). Anyway, I know how little miss Soph does not like to hear me sing, so I don’t think that will work.

But if you really want, I’ll teach you the song for your birthday present!

Oh, and you, like me, should at least get a birthday weekend… since mine is around Memorial Day I ususally celebrate that weekend. You, my dear, have Labor Day covered, and should be celebrated as such.

  10. Happy (early) Birthday! I just turned 32, too. And I too, and draggin’ my feet with potty training Claire. She has had many successes, but also lots of accidents the couple of days she wore undies. And even as I type this, she is hiding over in the corner to poop…never had a poop hider until her. So, that presents a new challenge for me.

  11. mine will not potty train either and he will be 3 in November. We have tried a few different times and he does well at first, but before long he is asking, whining, BEGGING for his diaper to be put back on… after already having a few accidents. He is just not interested!

  12. Happy Birthday!!! Love the list – Brilliant idea! I will have to remember that for my next birthday. Hope you get everything you asked for and more!
