Ode to Anna

If you’ve been reading our blog for awhile now, you know that Emily has a younger sister, Anna. She is the third and final member of our heroic trio, the SuperCousins (she is also Emily’s fifth cousin and my fifth cousin as well as my first cousin. Ahem.) Each of us SuperCousins has a super power of course; mine is couponing, Emily’s is pumping her breasts while driving a car, and Anna’s is craftiness. The girl is a crafter.

A few weeks ago, on my birthday, I was the beneficiary of Anna’s craftiness when she made me this divine piece of art:

purse made by my cousin Anna

Here’s the inside:

inside of my cool purse

Anna made this purse out of CVS and Target bags! She somehow ironed them together and then quilted them into a purse. It’s beyond me, I am way too craftarded to even begin to understand it, but isn’t it CUTE?? Don’t all you CVSers want one??

I am sure Anna would just looove to make you all one…for the right price! Sadly, she does not accept ECBs. (She does enjoy using them though! She also loves CVS!)

So, anyhoo, that’s my ode to Anna. She is pretty awesome and oh-so-crafty, and a wonderful friend and cousin!

We Have a Coupon Printer!

One of our local CVS stores got a coupon printer this week! Oot Oot! It’s not one of my normal stops, but it IS on the way to and from church, so I am going to have to stop in and scan my card at least once a week! It let me scan my card three times when I went, and two of the coupons it spat out were ones I got to use on this week’s deals! YAY!

Here’s what I scored this week:

DSC01218

Nivea for Men body was $4.99
Suave deodorant $2.39
Adidas deodorant $4.99
Wyler’s Light singles $.25 (clearance!)
Total = $12.62

Coupons:
$2/$10 CVS q
$1 off Nivea for Men q
$1 off Adidas q
50 cents off Suave q
$1.99 off Walgreens Adidas coupon (should have taken $3 off but I did not complain!)
Total = $6.13
I paid with 5 ECB and paid $1.53 on my gift card and got back $10.99 ECB! 4.99 for the Nivea, 4 for the Adidas, and 2 for the Suave (I had purchased more Suave on a previous transaction.)

Next up: My FAVORITE transaction of the WEEK!

46 cents, baby

Huggies Mega Pack $15

Cottonelle TP $6.49
Three boxes Kleenex $3

$1 Cottonelle wipes manu q
$1/3 Kleenex Walgreens q
50 cents off Cottonelle TP manu q

Total = $11.99
I paid with $11.99 ECB and 46 cents cash and got back $10 ECB!!!! That’s the ONLY way to shop, people!! Special thanks to JILL for the Walgreens q’s!!

Last, but not least:

DSC01229

1 Crest ProHealth $2.99
1 kids’ toothbrush clearance 50 cents
1 Ambi facewash $6.99

Total = $10.48
Coupons:
CVS $2/$10
75 cents off Crest
$3 off Ambi manu q
$2 off Ambi CRT (from the coupon printer!!)
$1 off Ambi Walgreens q
Total = $1.73

I paid with 1 ECB and $1.05 cash and got back 5 ECB! 3 for the Ambi and 2 for the Crest. The BEST part of this transaction is the toothbrush. I needed a toothbrush for Sophie so that is why I went to CVS. I wanted to work it into a transaction to roll my ECBs and ended up being able to MAKE $$ since I found the clearance toothbrush! Yay!!

Well, that’s all for me this week! Hope you all did well and had fun. For more great couponing adventures, check out CVS Superstars at The Censtible Sawyer and Super Savings Saturday at Money Saving Mom!

Listen Up, NBC

Don’t read this (yet) if you DVR’d The Office last night!
********

I want you to know that if you screw things up between Jim and Pam, I am GOING TO BE PISSED.

Really pissed. Like will-stop-watching-the-show pissed. And I am sure I’m not alone.

You created a wonderful love story. We all watched and waited for Pam to finally get rid of that loser Roy, and then we even put up with the Jim and Karen situation for a while. And the anticipation made it all the more wonderful with Jim and Pam finally got together.

When Jim climbed into Pam’s Yaris and kissed her, I was thrilled. And when Jim pulled out a ring box and said he bought it a week after he and Pam started dating… well, it was the most romantic thing I have ever seen. (Sorry, honey).

You totally got it right.

But last night, you led me to believe you may go and mess it all up. And in case I haven’t mentioned it, I do not think that is a good idea!

Here’s the thing. We don’t want to have the Roy-Pam-Jim situation played out again with Jim-Pam-chubby-20-year-old-boy. That is not cool. We don’t want to see Pam go live in a dorm and rush a sorority and pretend she’s a stupid college kid. We don’t. Ok? We want you to continue down the path you started, where the nice guy gets the girl. We want to think that sometimes people fall in love and stay in love and have babies and remain faithful to each other and like it, dammit. Because really, we see enough of the other side of it in real life.

Do you know why every fairy tale in the world ends with “Happily ever after?” Because the Brothers Grimm’s marketing research firm found out that THAT’S WHAT PEOPLE WANT. It’s worked for them for a couple hundred years – I’d follow their lead if I were you.

So please, I am begging you. Don’t screw this up.
