Teeth.

Kate got her first tooth at four months.

Sammy got his first tooth on Sunday, at nearly 11 months.

My two babies, they look a lot alike. (You’re going to have to trust me on this, because apparently Snapfish is holding Kate’s baby pictures hostage.) They sound a lot alike. But they are such different babies.

Sammy sucks his thumb; Kate never did. Kate crawled on all fours; Sammy has perfected the army crawl. Sammy loves to play with his toys; Kate was never all that into them. Kate didn’t put things in her mouth; Sammy thinks the world is one big snack box.

By default, Kate is my yardstick. So when Sam was four months old, I started feeling his gums for teeth. Until Sunday, I had been researching preschool-sized denture options. But sure enough, his tooth (and then another one the next day) popped through when it was good and ready.

It’s things like this that remind me that each of my kids is on his or her own timeline, and that it’s ok. They’re different kids, and throughout their lives they are going to do things differently and make different choices, it’s just who they are.

And they’re both so incredible.

Chasing Amy

So, I have this friend. She’s a bloggy friend that I met via Twitter, but I have now met her in real life TWICE (at both BlissDom ’08 and ’09) and I big-puffy-HEART her! Her name? Amy in Ohio.

Amy is flippin’ hilarious, and smart, and lots of other wonderful things, plus she has great hair (which I enjoy)! You know what else I enjoyed? Following her on Twitter, and reading her super-funny tweets, many of which were aimed at someone hooking her up with a free Blackberry (which no one ever did and that is a CRYING SHAME, I tell you!!)

I say “enjoyed” following Amy, because about a month ago, I discovered I was NOT following her any longer. Somehow, I “unfollowed” her without actually doing so myself. In other words, Twitter magically decided I should no longer be following @AmyinOhio. And no matter how many times I click the “follow” button on her profile page, it WON’T WORK!! GRRR! Jenny ANGRY.

Though Amy and I have both annoyed Twitter by tweeting to them excessively about this problem, they haven’t fixed it yet. So, until then, Amy and I (or Amyeo and Jenniet as I like to call us) are just going to have to connect in other ways. Last week we became Facebook friends and we are going to a Dayton-Cincy bloggy meet-up this weekend with Emily & some other awesome people (you know who you are! HOLLA!) But I was thinking another great way would be for us to start a blog together! I’ve already got a great blog name and header design:

Whaddya think?? I think it’s a winner!

As I was writing this post, I received more terrible Twitter news: I have also “magically” unfollowed my friend Dawn. That’s right, Twitter is trying to keep me and my elevator angel, Dawn apart. What the heck Twitter? Am I going to have to get stuck in an elevator at BlogHer with this girl to make up for lost Twitter-time?? This is strike TWO! If you try to keep Emily and I apart I will have no choice but to call in my mob connections and have somebody whacked. So, please, please don’t make me ask again! Hook me back up with @kaiseralex and @AmyinOhio STAT!

This Week at CVS…

So, there were no super-hot deals at CVS this week that had me excited…UNTIL I heard there was a “hidden deal” money-maker on Neutrogena bars, at which time I ran out the door to find some! One of my CVS stores had already been wiped clean, but I was able to find a couple at my other favorite store! So I got these:

made 4 bucks on this

Which are $2.99 each. So, my total was $5.98 before tax. I paid with a $5.98 ECB, paid ZERO out-of-pocket, and got back 10 ECB for buying two Neutrogena items! These bars weren’t supposed to be part of the deal, but they were. YAY! I like making $4 for buying stuff.

I also had some stuff I actually needed to get, that I got at the first store.

78 cents atCVS

Milk $2.99
Huggies $8.99
Two Colgate $5.98
Venus Razor $7.99

Total = $25.96

Coupons: $5/$25 Rite Aid coupon (my CVS takes competitor q’s)
Two $1 off Colgate manu q’s
$1.50 off Huggies manu q
$2 off Venus manu q

Total = $15.46
I paid with ECBs, I can’t remember how many exactly, but around 15, and I paid 78 cents cash and got back 9.98 ECBs – 4 for the Venus and 5.98 for the Colgate. Not bad for getting milk, diapers, and a fancy razor!

Well that’s all for me this week! Hope you all did great too! To see how everyone else did, check out CVS Superstars at the Centsible Sawyer, Super Savings Saturday at Money Saving Mom and Shopping Superstars at the Thirfty Mama.
