Few things say “It’s spring!” to me like the smell of food on the grill. We love to eat on the deck throughout the spring and summer, and I love to grill (or have my husband do it!). Take a look at the collection I made on Foodie.com – I can’t wait to try them!

I am super obsessed with asparagus right now. I loooove it. I usually roast it, but this recipe for grilled asparagus is one I am going to have to try out. Same with sweet potatoes – I roast them all the time, but hadn’t thought to cook them on the grill. Here’s a recipe for grilled chipotle lime sweet potato fries – yum! While we’re on the topic of vegetables, here’s how to get perfectly grilled corn on the cob.

Of course, the main point of grilling out is the meat! I can’t wait to try this recipe for Grilled Tri-Tip with Tequila Marinade and this one for Grilled Mongolian Pork Chops.

Dessert is important too, and can also be done on the grill. I love grilled peaches – here’s a recipe for fruit kabobs, and here’s one for grilled pineapple.

Head over to Foodie.com to make your own collection! Happy grilling!

InstaFriday – April Insanity

This has been quite a month for our family, as April has been for the past 10 years – and particularly the past six, when we’ve celebrated not only Kate’s birthday and Easter, but Sam’s birthday too.

It was touch-and-go at times, but we survived.

We started April off with a long weekend in Nashville, where we discovered my new favorite Mexican restaurant ever.

And – cue angels singing – I found out there is now one in Cincinnati.

Kate was so thrilled to actually see flowers after the winter we’ve had.

The day after we got back was Sam’s birthday. We went to the zoo, where we got completely drenched in a downpour, swung by the bookstore, where Sam pretended to be a Lego…

And then went to the Reds/Cardinals game in Cincinnati. Which was under a rain delay for nearly three hours. Which meant it started at 9:45. Which meant it ended the following Thursday.

We had a great time anyway.

Then came Easter. We decorate eggs at my grandma’s house each year – it’s a tradition. And it also means that I don’t have to learn how to hard boil eggs and/or clean up. It’s a win/win. For me, anyway.

Last weekend we finally had some spring weather, and we celebrated by staying outside as much as humanly possible.

Then it was Kate’s birthday. She turned 10, and I don’t know where my baby went.

April, you were fun, but I am exhausted.

#TBT – Easter

Throwback Thursdays are a fun glimpse into the lives of our friends and families, and the TBT on Facebook today featured a lot of Easter pictures, so I thought I’d join in!
