February Kitchen Adventures

As I mentioned last month, I am a Recipe Reviewer for ReadySetEat.com, a new website from ConAgra Foods.  It’s a great spot where you can find all kinds of recipes, search for specific ingredients, and read reviews of these recipes.  It’ll help you decide “what’s for dinner”.  What’s even better is that these are all simple, easy, FAST recipes you can throw together quickly!  This month I reviewed four recipes, and I chose two of them simply based on what ingredients I already had in my pantry.  They all turned out great!

My favorite recipe I made this month was the Honey-Mustard Pork Chops. YUM!  I never thought that I could love Gulden’s Spicy Brown Mustard (I generally shy away from anything with the word “spicy” in the title), but it is GOOD in all these recipes! This is the third one I’ve used it in, and I am now a fan! Anyhoo, these pork chops were absolutely amazingly delicious.  And they were SO fast and easy to make.  I was rather impressed with myself!

This is ReadySetEat's picture. Because I forgot to take one. But mine looked JUST like this. 🙂

The other recipe I reviewed this month that really surprised me was the Italian Chicken Packets.  I usually like my chicken dressed up a little fancier (read: heavily marinated or breaded) so I was afraid I wouldn’t like it.  But it was REALLY tasty and so simple.  The ingredients in this are Hunt’s diced tomatoes, broccoli, chicken, and lite italian dressing.   And you cook them in FOIL.  Seriously, it could not be any easier to make OR clean up.  And the mix of the veggies with the dressing was SO tasty! And healthy too!  I’ll definitely be making it again!

I forgot to take a picture of this one too. And mine was NOT this pretty but MAN it was tasty!

Also this month I discovered the “Recipe Box” feature of ReadySetEat.com.  I love, love being able to save my favorite recipes there so I don’t have to search for them each time I come to the site.  So convenient!

So tell me, have you checked out ReadySetEat.com yet?  And if so, what’s in YOUR recipe box?

Review: Sleepy Wrap carrier

One of the very fun things about having a new baby is getting to review some excellent baby products.  The Sleepy Wrap is one of those products I was very happy to review!  It’s a very versatile, comfortable way to wear your baby.  It’s just one big piece of fabric that can be worn multiple ways, and is ideal for your baby’s first year of life, although you may wear it much longer as long as you and your kiddo are comfy in it!

I am not intuitively good at figuring things out, but the Sleepy Wrap was easy to put on and put Jonah in once I watched their great instructional video a couple times.  And it is SO comfortable to wear.  And he LOVES being in it.  I’ve had to take him out of it a couple of times because he was so sleepy and comfy I was afraid he wouldn’t sleep at bedtime!

I love the way the Sleepy Wrap evenly distributes the baby’s weight so it doesn’t hurt my back, my shoulders, or anything else.  The fabric is a really high-quality knit and feels great.  I got brown, a nice unisex color, so Bobby can wear the baby in it too.  It’s a one-size fits all wrap so we can share baby-wearing duties!

Wearing the Sleepy Wrap I can do dishes, laundry, vacuum – all kinds of things and also have a happy baby!  Not to mention it is great to wear him in anywhere I need to go.

I love the Sleepy Wrap!  To check out more of it’s great features, just visit the website.

In One Day

You guys are amazing. Amazing.

In one day, one single day, you gave over $2,000 to help my friend Elizabeth.

We asked, “GimmE five!” and you did! And then some!  And today even more has come in…we are blown away.  And some of you are sending checks!  Thank you for making the extra effort.

By your love.  Your generosity.  Your faith in our word that this is needed.

I am humbled.

Grateful.

Just about speechless.

Totally in tears.

Thank you isn’t enough to express our gratitude and joy.  But it’s all I’ve got right now.

Thank you!
