Blissfully Domestic staffers get crazy at BlissDom ’08

When I returned from BlissDom ’08 on Sunday, I returned with more than just some great blogging tips and some new friends. I also returned with a job offer. Alli, Mrs. Fussypants, the brains and beauty behind Blissfully Domestic, grabbed me at the end of the day and shocked me by asking me to become the new editor of the Blissful Style Channel at Blissfully Domestic. Whoa! I was totally flattered and humbled and after she batted her perfectly-mascared eyelashes at me and plied me with a pink sugary drink, I agreed to think it over. After praying about it and talking to my hubby and this nutjob (who happens to the editor of the Photo Bliss channel), I decided to take the leap and say, “I’m in!”

So, I am now the editor of the Blissful Style channel at Blissfully Domestic! {squeals and jumps up and down!} I’m nervous and excited, and a little nauseous, and mostly just really happy to be a part of it. And hopeful that I don’t screw anything up or overwhelm myself. Or make Fussypants mad. ‘Cause she is real good at Photoshop and I really do not want my head on a gun-totin’, American-flag-bikini-wearin’ body. (Although on a fully-clothed Gisele Bunchen would be just fine, Alli dear.)

If you are a loyal reader here at Mommin’ It Up, I hope you’ll become a regular reader at Blissfully Domestic also! Especially the Style Channel! I have some great contributors writing for Blissful Style and I hope I can count on you to show ’em some LURVE. I’ll still be writing as well as editing!

Of course, things are not going to change here at Mommin’ It Up. Emily and I will still hassle banter with each other and bring you the same vomit-inducing exciting content we always do. And while we’re on the subject of bloggy business, Em and I have been doing lots of reviews at Reviewin’ It Up! If you haven’t been over there in awhile, you’ll want to go read about my favorite new children’s book, a product that’s helping my hubby lose weight, and one of Emily’s favorite breastfeeding products.

Thanks for reading, as always! We love our readers! You make our bloggy wishes come true everyday. Now have a great weekend and insert congratulatory comments here:

🙂

(OH! P.S. my BFF Luanne is back to blogging. She took an *ahem*extended break but would now love for you to come visit her and give her a shout out here at her blog! Thx!)

WFMW: Kroger.com eCoupons (and a GIVEAWAY!)

kroger-savings-page2.jpg

Many moons ago
, Emily and I told you how Kroger.com was the bomb. (Ooh do you like that rhyme? I should be a rapper, no?) You may know from reading my Super Savings Saturday posts how much I love Kroger, so that they have such a great website that helps maximize savings is really the icing on the cake! Right now I am loooving their eCoupons. They are really helping me save! When you log onto Kroger.com, you will see that they have two different places to load eCoupons – one from Shortcuts.com (a service of AOL) and one from P&G. Both are very easy. You just create a username and password, put in your Kroger Plus card number, and choose which coupons to add. Then, when you scan your card at checkout and buy one of the items you have an eCoupon for, the eCoupon just comes off automatically! It is awesome. I have done it several times, and it has worked perfectly every time. The best part about this is that you can use one eCoupon and one paper coupon for the same item to maximize your savings! Woohoo!

Here are some other ways Kroger.com can save you money!

Printable Coupons
–Forget to pick up the Sunday paper? No worries. Now you can print coupons directly from the Kroger.com site.

Fuel Rewards – Customers throughout The Kroger Co.’s family of stores can accumulate and redeem fuel discounts they earn by shopping at Kroger-owned stores at participating gas stations the retailer operates across the country. Most of the fuel discount programs offered by Kroger and its family of stores reward customers with a minimum of 10 cents off per gallon of gas for every $100 they spend in a store.

Kroger Pharmacy – Kroger Pharmacies offer a 30-day supply of more than 300 prescriptions for only $4, or 90-day supplies for only $10. That means you can save on generic drugs used to treat a wide range of medical conditions. At Kroger.com you can download a complete list of eligible medications and check to see if your local pharmacy participates.

1-2-3 Rewards MasterCard –Sign up for a 1-2-3 Rewards MasterCard and earn free groceries when you shop. Each time you use your card you’ll earn points – 1 point for every dollar spent outside the store, 2 points for every dollar spent inside the store and 3 points for every dollar spent on any of the Kroger family brands. For every 1,000 points you earn you’ll receive $5 in FREE groceries.

eCoupons from Kroger.com are what work for me when I am headed to Kroger. For more great Works for Me Wednesday ideas, check out Rocks in My Dryer. BUT before you do – leave a comment on this post and you will be entered to win one of TWO, COUNT ‘EM TWO $25 gift cards from Kroger!! Yay! Thanks Kroger! Comments will close and Random.org will pick the winner on Saturday at 8 a.m. Happy entering!

‘Twas Blissful at BlissDom (and Epson ROCKS!)

BlissDom!

I’m back from Nashville and tickled pink at what a great event BlissDom ’08 was! First off I just want to say a HUGE thank you to Epson for sponsoring the event and making it FREE for me and all the other bloggers to attend. They provided us with great food & drinks, a team of photographers who documented our participation throughout the day (and then printed the pics for us to take home on the amazing Epson Artisan printer!!) and an awesome musical guest, the very talented Jessie Baylin. (That girl can sing, peeps. And she’s adorable also, and had a great style. She had these blue boots on I just wanted to rip off of her pretty little feet. After she was done singing of course!)

Thank you EPSON!!

I am happy to report for all of you that were just chomping at the bit to know, the ladies behind Blissfully Domestic are class acts. The real deal, yo. Just sweet and smart and funny and gorgeous! So thanks to Alli, Karla, and Robin and also Barbara Jones from One2One Network!

At BlissDom we learned a lot about all things blogging. The info was great, the speakers were insightful and sometimes very hilarious, and the topics were tres, tres applicable, from making your blog your own, to developing a brand, to how to make big bucks on the internetz without taking your clothes off!

Here are Megan of Velveteen Mind and Alli (Mrs. Fussypants) imparting great wisdom and laughs to us all.

Megan and Alli

I know, you are reading this and weeping with shame and regret you missed the event. Never fear, my dears. Mark your calendars for BlissDom ’09 in February!!

Of course, since I am a social outcast butterfly, my favorite part was the PEOPLE. I love, love, love meeting and making bloggy friends! I was thrilled to meet bloggers I already loved like Mishi (aka Secret Agent Mama). Here we are posing with the electric breasts in the lobby of the Hotel Preston. She is like, the coolest. I want to have a weekly coffee-and-photography lesson date with her!

And then there was Lotus, who I love to read over at Sarcastic Mom because she is just real, real, real. Luckily, she is also hilarious and a great writer. I even got my pic with her and her famous bloggy toddler Braeden!

Me & Lotus and her famous toddler!

Ooh and guess what – I got a preview of Fussy’s next “Fight the Frump” post! She’s going to be talking about must-have accessories. Her current favorites are ME and her baby Jeremiah!

Two Chicks & A Babe

I made a new bloggy friend that I really, really like. Go give her some love. It’s Moriah from Please Pass the Salt. She came and sat next to me at BlissDom and I am so glad that she did! This is the photo the event photographers took of us. Isn’t she adorable?

Moriah and I - the official photo!

So, in summary, BlissDom was amazing, EPSON rocks, Fussy needs to photoshop my head onto Britney Spears’ body, the SWAG kicked butt, and I may or may not have had a sip of the special drink they made us called a “BlissTini” that had pink sugar all over the outer rim of the glass.

Mmmm…sugar.

The only thing that would have made BlissDom better is if my favorite loving cousin Emily could have been there. I mean we need to appear together at these things cause we are confusing the CRAP out of the blogosphere since there are two of us who run this disaster blog!

One other thing, if Jill could have joined me that also would have been SPECTACULAR! I mean, she IS my bloggy BFF. When Fussy asked me to be HER bloggy BFF, I was like, “Sorry Fussy, you’re really cute and all, but Diaper Diaries already asked me, so…” It was a little awkward, but I am a loyal BBFF, right?? I don’t just give it up to anyone.

Got more questions about BlissDom? I am sure I forgot to mention lots of great stuff! Ask me in the comments and I promise to answer!
