Pin For the Wednesdays – 25 Ways to tie a scarf

My winning pin for this week might be my favorite pin so far, ever.  You know, in the whole month that I’ve been on Pinterest!  But it’s a really good one, from Wendy’s LookBook, 25 ways to tie a scarf.  My original pin is here, it’s a 5-minute video tutorial of 25 different scarf-ties and it’s awesome! Since I’ve pinned it, I’ve done 4 or 5 new ties!  And I wear a scarf several times a week, so I really needed some fresh looks for mine.  Here are a couple of my favorites!

Pin FTW – Chicken Enchilada Soup

Welcome to week two of Pin for the Wednesdays! We were so excited by your participation in last week’s carnival, and we’re hoping that even more of you will participate this week!

Most of my Pinterest Wins have been with recipes – I love finding new recipe ideas there. (Are you following my Food and Drinks board? It’s full of pretty cocktails and cupcakes!) I think Pinterest is extremely handy for cooking… It’s my personal, digital cookbook.

This week I tried this recipe for Crock Pot Chicken Enchilada Soup from one of my favorite cooking sites, SkinnyTaste.com. The recipe wasn’t hard, but it did require a bit of preparation (this time I followed directions, don’t worry) – basically you make the enchilada sauce before throwing it in the crock pot. Despite the fact that I’d never made this particular recipe before, it sounded so delicious that I went ahead and made a double batch. I wanted to ensure leftovers!

Here’s the finished product:

It. Was. Delicious. My husband deemed it the best thing I’ve ever made, and my kids loved it too. It’s a nutritious, low-calorie, delicious meal that our whole family loved – I’d say that’s a Pinterest Win!

So, what have you been up to this week? We’d love for you to link up with your Pinterest Wins!

Mommin It Up

I’m going to get things started off this week by showing you what happened when I made those Pokemon cupcakes I found in this pin (see how I just linked to my original source!):

I loved the idea, but I H-A-T-E coloring frosting with food coloring. I always stain my fingers and about half my kitchen counter and in this case with the red food coloring the mess often resembles something gory, so I decided to take the photo as my inspiration but make this idea into reality a different way. Here’s how mine turned out:

And here’s how I did it!
You will need

pokemon cupcakes step 2

Pokemon cupcakes step 4
Pokemon cupcakes step 5
Pokemon cupcake step 6

Joshua loved these cupcakes and so did his friends. And they were very easy to decorate. Even at midnight (I was up at midnight as predicted!)
