CVS Deals Matched with Competitor Coupons, June 29-July 5

Sorry I am so late getting this posted, but I hope it helps some of you! There are not too many competitors q’s that match up with ECB deals but there are a few worth mentioning!

If you are in the Dayton area, there is a $5/$25 coupon in the Family Dollar ad! ZGo pick some up! It is good ’til July 13th! My CVS will take it and I hope yours does TOO!

Buy 2 Coppertone products, get $10 ECB
There are $2 off Rite Aid coupons for SPF30 lotion of continuous spray here.
The lotion is $8.99 and spray $9.99 at my CVS. Coppertone Sport is my hubby’s fave so I picked some up using these coupons!

July ECB deal – buy two Sure deodorants, get 3 ECB
There are $1.50 off 1 q’s in the Walgreens EasySaver catalog. Buy two & combine with the $1/$1 q’s from Sunday’s paper (smart source) or printable here and pay $1 for two deodorants and get 3 ECB back! (They are $2.99 each). Then, send in for the rebate if you got the rebate form in Sunday’s paper. Some papers had a B1G1 coupon instead of a rebate form, of course that would also make a sweet deal!

Non-ECB deal but a GREAT one! Schick Intuition razors and 3-pk cartridge refills are B1G1 FREE this week! My CVS has them for $10.49. Use two $2 offf q’s from this past Sunday’s paper (smart source) and two $2 off q’s from the Walgreen’s ES catalog and you will get either two razors or 6 refills for $2.49!!! That’s a crazy good deal! If you use this razor, I would do this deal more than once if you have enough q’s. I got these for my BFF Luanne as this is her razor of choice and she needed refills.

That’s about all I see…everyone let me know if I missed anything and happy CVSing!!

WFMW: Slow Cooker Garlic Mashed Potatoes

In this edition of Works for Me Wednesday, we are supposed to write about our best recipes that are made with five ingredients or less! Most of my meals are pretty simple but narrowing them down to one with only five ingredients was difficult! Then I remembered my favorite special treat – garlic mashed potatoes made in the crock pot. The ingredients are: potatoes (I like mine with the peel), butter, fresh garlic, milk, and water. I generally “eyeball” it, but if you have about two pounds of potatoes, you dice them, then put them in the crock pot with a clove of pressed garlic, 1/4 cup water, and 1/4 cup butter. Cook them on low for about 7 hours or high for four hours, then beat them with an electric mixer and add the milk gradually (probably between 1/4 and 1/2 a cup is good) until you get the consistency the way you like it! If you want to be really bad and decadent, you can use sour cream instead of milk!

These are yummy and SO easy, and they really work for me! For more great recipes, check out Rocks in My Dryer.

On the Road Again

Tomorrow we are going to attempt to drive to St. Louis, which is about a six hour drive from here. Anyone want to guess how long it will actually take us to get there??? I’m thinking 10 hours. Maybe more.

We go to STL every year for the 4th, to visit Andy’s grandpa, as Independence Day is also his birthday. This year he will turn 99. We are looking forward to introducing him to Sam, and Kate is very excited because she LOVES her great-grandpa.

We’re also meeting some friends there and going to a Cardinals game. We scored some sweet free tickets due to a disastrous trip there last year, so that will be fun. We are thinking of hitting the science center or Grant’s Farm while we’re there, too, because like many other things in St. Louis (the zoo, the Budweiser brewery), they are FREE. How awesome is that?

So anyway, I am looking forward to being in St. Louis, I’m just not looking forward to getting there. Or packing, which is on the agenda today. I don’t think our car can hold all the stuff necessary to take for two kids.

Anyone have survival tips for me? I know I shouldn’t drug the kids, but I’m thinking that drugging myself might not be such a bad idea. I mean, Andy will drive, so what would be the harm in me knocking myself out? It’s a better alternative than jumping out into oncoming traffic, don’t you think?
