This week’s photos were all taken in one fun, beautiful, near-perfect afternoon at the park.

Sophie climbed up the steps to get to the slide all by herself. She was SO proud!

Then she took the plunge and went down! Whee!

whee!
It was a fast slide, and she landed kind of hard on her buns. She didn’t want to go again. Oops, I guess I should have caught her instead of taking her picture!

Then, we moved on to the swings, which were guarded by the Scarecrow,

the Tin Man,

tin man again

and the Cowardly Lion.

Joshua took a solo swing while I was chasing Sophie around:

Then Sophie had her turn!

Joshua also really enjoyed the playground equipment:

It was such a great day! I hope we get some cooler weather this week so we can go back there again.

Word in Drugstore Circles is “Jenny Gets Around”

Oh my goodness, there were so many deals at Walgreens this week that I HAD to do a couple of them, and miracle of miracles they worked! SO once again I am a CVS cheater. OH, CVS you’re still the best!! I just can’t resist getting paid to buy stuff! I’ll go wherever they pay me!

Of course I still went to CVS, too. But I’ll start with Walgreens!

spent $2.46, got back $10

Ahh the infamous Robitussin deal! I paid $3.99 each for the Robitussin and 60 cents for the mentos. I used three $3 off Robitussin coupons and a $2 off Register Reward I’d gotten last week, and paid $2.46 with tax and got back a $10 Register Reward! Can you say profit??

I then took that $10 Register Reward and got this:

walgreens making $7 on this
Excedrin gels $3.99
Crest $3.79
Orajel toddler toothpaste $3.99 (for my little Sophie-So’s toofers)

I used my $10 RR and a 75 cents off Crest coupon, paid $1.84 with tax and will get back over $8 in rebates from the Crest and the Excedrin! Yippee!

Ok, on to CVS!

cvs - made $3

Loreal cleansing wipes $5.99
Glade Scented Oil Candle refill $3.59
Herbal Essences Shampoo $2.49
Total = $12.07
Coupons:
$2/$10 CVS q
$2 off Herbal Essences manu q
FREE Glade refill (sent to me by Glade – thanks!) -$3.50
Total =$4.57
Paid with 4 ECB and some change and got back 5.99 ECB for Loreal and 1 ECB for the shampoo! Me likey da profit!

Then, I got this:

total zero out-of-pocket and made $3!
Milk $2.99
Herbal Essence $2.49
CVS Lotion $1.49
Revlon nail polish $3.99
Total = $10.96
Coupons:
$2/$10 CVS q
$2 off Revlon CRT
$2 off Herbal Essences manu q
$2 off CVS Skincare q (My CVS takes these for 30 days past expiration – it expired 8/31)
Total = $2.96

I paid with 3 ECB adjusted down to 2.96. This made the total ZERO and I got back 3 ECB for the Revlon and 1 for the Herbal Essences!

Finally, there was this:
My mom needed body wash and Sophie needed 2-in-1 shampoo! Gotta keep that girl’s hair conditioned!

suave - broke even!
4 Suave Body wash $$9.98
1 Suave Shampoo $2.59
Total = $12.57
Coupons: $2/$10 CVS q
Two B1G1 Free Suave Body wash q’s (up to $2, so -$4)
Two 50 cents off Suave Body wash q
$2/3 Suave products Kroger q (my CVS accepts competitor q’s!)
Total = $2.57
I paid with 3 ECB and $1.12 tax and got back 4 ECB (it’s a monthly deal, buy $6 worth of Suave get back 2 ECB. I bought $12 worth so I got 4 ECB.)

Ok, FINALLY, I swear I am almost done, but Meijer was having their fabulous 1/2 Lysol sale which I always like to hit hard. I got ALL THIS for…

74 cents for all this at meijer

..wait for it….74 CENTS!!!! Woohoo!! I had a coupon for each item that was either $1 off or doubled to $1 off. That made the toilet bowl cleaners 4 cents each and the wipes 24 cents each. The all-purpose cleaner was 39 cents! I also had a $5 off catalina coupon I had gotten for buying 5 Speed Stick deodorants (which were $2 each, and I had five $1 off coupons, so I spent $5, got back $5!) which I used to bring my total down to just 74 cents. My cashier was MORE than impressed. Now I am way stocked up on wipes for us & some friends & family again!

Ok, I am finally done. I was very happy to come in at $1.50 under budget this week for household and groceries (yes, I DID also buy food at Meijer! Got a bunch of freebies!) How did you do?
