More of Me, Me, Me

In the continued spirit of milking the Blogaversary thing for as long as possible, today I am answering more reader questions! Jen B. wanted to know what my greatest CVS deal ever is. Well, here it is! If you read my vacation post, you know my parents just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. I really wanted to get them a digital camera for their anniversary but gifts of this magnitude are generally not in the budget. However, being the shrewd CVSer that I am, I noticed a few months ago that CVS carries digital cameras! So I started saving my ECBs and waiting for a sale. Around the end of May, CVS had the Kodak Easy Share C713, on sale for $99.99 and you got a FREE 512 MB memory card with it! I knew it was time to strike.

I had 84 ECBs and a $5 off coupon. After using all those, I was able to get the camera and the memory card for just $11.03!!! I was so excited!! My parents loved it and my brother gave me $10 to chip in, so my OOP was $1.03. I LOOOOVE CVS!!

Bethany wanted to know what my favorite blog to read is, if I had to pick just one. That is a ROUGH question Beth!! I don’t think I could read just one, I might die. But when I read the question, the first one of my daily reads that popped into my brain was Momo Fali’s. Momo is a hilarious mommy of two and a BUCKEYE like myself. And she is an amazing storyteller and writer. So go see her and tell her I sent you!

Now I shall answer a question from my dear friend Krista: What the heck would I do with a day to myself?? I am boring, so I would probably spend the day relaxing in my bed or on the beach, reading some good books and alternating shots of Starbucks and Mountain Dew. And I would definitely have a massage in there somewhere!! I know, I am a wild and crazy gal.

My sister-in-law Ruthie wanted to know if Emily and I did anything bad together as kids and got in trouble. The answer, sadly, is no. We were as boring saintly then as we are now! The worst thing we did was move heaven and earth to exclude Em’s sister Anna from our Rummy games. I know we will answer to God for that at judgment day! We’re sorry Annie! Forgive us!! We LOVE you! Anna has taken her revenge by being much skinnier and craftier than we are. So, she showed us!!

Mm kay, that is it for me at the moment. Now tomorrow is your last day to pick Emily’s brain, so leave a comment with a question for her or email her! She has some skeletons in her closet!! Drag ’em out people!!

Now go enter our contest…time’s a wastin’!

You Asked For It!

In celebration of our Blogaversy (or is it Blogiversary? I better consult the Urban Dictionary!), Emily and I are answering reader questions! So if you have any questions, please email one of us or leave a comment. We just are DYING to spill our guts here. Really. Anyhoo, one of the questions we’ve gotten more than once is how and if we make money blogging. Well, we are NOT the people to go to for advice on the subject, but we have made about an average of $60/month over the past year thanks to this blog and Google Adsense, Text Link Ads, and BlogHer Ads. (Split two ways of course, so we are TOTALLY rolling in it!! But it’s nice to have and we make it doing something we enjoy!) Although I noticed while I was on vacation that our google ads have diappeared, and I really need to look into fixing that. But I juuuust haven’t gotten around to it yet. So you can see how concerned I am about bringing home the bacon with this endeavor!

Jen B. sent me the question, “Where did you go to college?” I went to Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky, which is just about the smallest town ever, but it is close to Lexington. It’s a small Christian college with a small, idyllic campus and lots of good programs. I really enjoyed my time there, and I met a lot of great people there as well. I majored in Media Communications and I loved it. But the work was hard, and I was reaalllly glad to be done when I graduated! I could never do grad school. I am way too wimpy!

Jen also wanted to know if I plan to send my kids to Christian school. Bobby and I plan to send our kids to Dayton Christian Schools, which is the same school we attended. But, if we can’t afford it, I will homeschool. But I realllllllllllllllly don’t wanna homeschool, because I am basically selfish and lazy, so I will keep a-clippin’ those coupons so I can send my babies to school!!

Another question I got more than once was if I could pretty please tell you something funny about Emily. So, I MUST oblige, sorry cousin! Here’s the dirt: when Emily was her daughter Kate’s age of 4 years, she was painfully shy. So shy, in fact, that she would not even talk to my mother, her beloved Aunt Diane. (Whereas I suffered then and now from “cantshutup-itis”.) And my mom is like, the Preschooler Whisperer, she’s a professional, but apparently even though she was her aunt who she saw about once a week, she was too scary for Emily to make eye contact or speak to! Fortuntately, Em’s social skills have come a long way since then. But I gotta laugh when I see Kate’s gregarious personality and think she definitely got that from her daddy!

Have I whetted your appetite? Are you dying to know more?? Email us at jenny[at]momminitup[dot]com or emily[at]momminitup[dot]com and tell us what you wanna know! Or leave a comment! PLEASE!! Or we might have to come up with original content this week and that would suck. 🙂

Tomorrow’s the ACTUAL Blog-iversary date so dont forget to get us a present!! After all, we’re giving you one! GO ENTER!!

Hosted By Sarcastic Mom

I took over 400 photos on my family vacation, which is a reedonkulous amount! But I have narrowed the field down to a few of my favorites to share with you this week! We went to my parents’ house in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, so all of these photos take place in that area, and all were taken with my amazing Sony Alpha DSLR-300k, which rocks!!!

Sophie was very serious about playing at Otter Creek:

Joshua has a little more fun playing in the Maury River:

It was almost 100 degrees, so we stripped Sophie to her diaper and put her in a tub with a little water in it to play:
perplexed?
She was having a great time, I don’t know what this look was for! Maybe she was sick of me taking pictures!

My Daddy. Is he not adorable? He is in his element here on the mountain. (Happy Father’s Day Dad!)

My Dad’s irises. My favorite flower!

We made a bonfire and had s’mores. This was Joshua’s first s’more ever. He was in heaven!
First S'more!

Sophie really wanted to get near that bonfire and she was really mad that I wouldn’t let her. I am such a meanie!

But she cheered up a little later when she got to watch her brother and her cousins run up and down the mountain over & over again. They are fascinating!
