Happy 4th!

Hope you all have a great 4th of July! Sophie decided to take the red-white-and-blue thing a little too seriously patriotically and decorated her face by taking a tumble off the porch steps at our family party last night:

I was right behind her, but just could not catch her in time!! It was terrible. There goes my Mother of the Year Award! She had a rough night but is already back to normal. Me, I am still traumatized!!

I am taking a bit of a break but I will be back Monday! Have a great holiday!

  1. benji had the same face wounds a month or two ago when he fell off a picnic table. i know how you feel. i still feel awful for his chipped teeth.
accidents happen… i am dreading any broken bones. but i know with two boys it is bound to happen, when they think they are circus performers and not afraid of anything,

  2. Poor little thing! And, still, she’s so beautiful! My son did similar last year, with a cement stage at the park, to his lip. Poor thing looked like he’d lost a very grueling boxing match!

  3. Oh, my little So-Dee Pop! Don’t make your mom feel too guilty about your injury… I am sure she is feeling guilty enough.

I think facial injuries are something that run in your family… I remember a story about DeeDee chasing Joshua down the driveway resulting in a similar injury.

  4. oooh, that poor lil puddin’ and poor mama. it’s so hard when the falls happen right in front of you but you can’t catch them in time. been there, done that.
hope the rest of your weekend is uneventful. 🙂

  5. Poor Soph!!!! She’s a tough girl, though, so I’m sure she’s already forgotten!! Now if only you could =)

  6. Poor baby, I’m sure it was worse for mama than it was for baby Sophie. Try not to be too hard on yourself.

  7. Am I a wierdo for being all “oh no!” after seeing her face, but then immediately noticing her onesie/tshirt and wanting one of my own? Kids have the coolest clothes. Cherries! Poor thing – I’m sure she’s already forgotten it though, and how else is she gonna learn to be careful of steps? 🙂

  8. Poor Soapy! Sean did something like that at daycare a couple of years ago. It was awful! Hope she feels better now 🙂
