Giveaway! Blue Manatee Books Unplugged Box

If you’re a regular reader here, you know that Emily and I both loooove to read.  And of course, we love to read to our kids.  It has been a great joy watching my kids learn to read and learn to love books.  Jonah, like his siblings before him, also loooves books. He loves to be read to and to sit and turn the pages on his own. He also loves to make a big mess of his books in the living room every day. Books are so multi-purpose!

When Blue Manatee Books, a super cool kids’ bookstore and de-cafe asked me if I’d like to review one of their special boxes of books, it was a total no-brainer!  I got to pick out a 3-book Baby Unplugged box of books. It was so fun selecting books for Jonah. There were really just TOO many good choices. In the end I went with these three: Baby Unplugged: Ball, Baby Bear, Baby Bear What do You See? by Eric Carle, and Bugs which is a fabulous touchy-feely book.

Here’s Jonah enjoying Baby Unplugged: Ball. It’s such a cute book and is great for vocabulary building! There is a whole Baby Unplugged series and I definitely want to get more of them!

Blue Manatee boxes make great gifts because you can customize the box with any books you want to! It comes it awesome, re-usable eco-friendly packaging (complete with play ideas for the box!) and a custom gift message.

I love getting and giving books at the holidays! And I love when my kids get them too.

  1. Hmm…as a teacher, it is nearly impossible to say a favorite book. I guess I’ll say that when I got a little older, Miss Nelson is Back was a consistent check-out from the library.

  2. My favorite book as a kid where any book in the Ramona serious and anything written by Roald Dahl. And the Babysitter’s Club. And the Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler. And Number the Stars. And any other book I could get my hands on!

I am working very hard to instill a love of reading in Gavin.

  3. My favorite kids books (as a parent) are anything by Eric Carle, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, in particular. We also loved the Laura Numeroff books… probably because it endears the moose, mouse, cat, dog, and pig to our ADD tendencies.

  4. We love the Llama, Llama book series at our house. They are colorful & fun to listen to for our 1 yo & easy to read for our 5 yo.

  5. Bread and Jam for Francis was my favorite when I was a kid. Now with my daughter it’s Goodnight Moon….

  6. One of my favorite children’s books is “I Took the Moon for a Walk”. It keeps my grandson’s attention and he loves it!

  7. My personal fave is Good Night Moon. My grandparents had it for us to read at their house; it was one of the first books that I bought for our first baby. I even picked a battered copy up out of a grocery store parking lot one time. It had definitely been run over by a car or cars; I just couldn’t leave one of my favorite stories there in such a sad state.

  8. Like Blue Manatee on FB (and thanks for reminding me I need to get over there again…the store is literally 2 miles from my home!)

  9. Love your pictures above, so cute! We are big time book lovers as well and this service sounds really neat. Favorite children’s book? Hmmm, we have lots of favs, like the Scaredy Squirrel series by M. Watts and the Elephant & Pig series by M. Williams, “Arnie The Donut”, “The Hallejulah Flight” and “Click, Clack, Moo.” 😀

  10. LOVE LOVE LOVE Steven Kellogg books – the illustrations are perfection. can’t wait to introduce my bumpkins to him.
