Monday Holi-daze GINORMOUS Give Away!!!

Are you ready for the biggest giveaway in Mommin It Up history??

I thought so!

Today’s Monday Holi-daze giveaway is huge! Huge!

So without further ado, here are all the wonderful things that one lucky reader will receive this week!

Big Day Chains

This fun kit contains everything you need to make a 30-day countdown chain in anticipation of a Big Day (in this case, a child’s birthday). Kids color the links in (they’re already fully colored on the backside), assemble the chain (using non-toxic glue dots) and then rip a link off every day until their birthday.

Joy by Jeanie B! CD

Joy is the third CD from Chicago singer/songwriter Jeanie B!. It is full of rockin’ good time music that will have your family up and dancing. Jeanie’s music is designed for the adults as much as for the kids so parents are as happy to listen as their little ones.

Swingset Mamas DVD

The Swingset Mamas are a rockin’ song-writing and performing pair of moms who infuse their playful inspiring tunes with their own mom-tested wisdom. The “Swing, Dance and Sing” DVD was released earlier this year and NickJr.com noted, “Preschoolers will have so much fun singing and dancing to these songs, they won’t even realize how much they’re learning!”

Go Green Games from Little Tikes

One of our favorite companies, Little Tikes, is going green this holiday season with their new line of family games, and the lucky winner will receive one of each of them – Memory, dominoes, Old Maid, Crazy 8s and Slap Jack. These traditional games are made out of real bamboo, which is a renewable, sustainable, natural material. They come in a re-usable case with a bamboo reed handle. They’re a fun, green alternative to plastic or cardboard. You can read more about how much I love them here.

“My Name” Stamp
tn_2_stamps_angled_1_version_1.jpg
Little learners love the sense of accomplishment when they learn to print their names, and this great stamp will help them reach that milestone. With a large ‘dotted’ font, children can stamp their own name on paper, coloring pages, artwork etc. and then trace the letters of their name. If you win, you’ll get a stamp with your child’s name, and your choice in ink color and whether you would prefer ALL CAPS or Lower Case (i.e. Matthew). Stamps as unique as your little one!

Parking Pal magnet

Putting kids in the car is not always an easy task – getting them to stay put is tough, but very necessary! That’s where the Parking Pal magnets come in – place one on the side of your vehicle, and your kids will know exactly where they should stay while you’re buckling the baby or putting groceries in the trunk. After a couple learning sessions, your child will discover that the Parking Pal is their safe spot, and they will know where to go the second they are outside the car.

LEGO Road Construction Set and LEGO DUPLO Dino Trap

These products need no introduction – who doesn’t love Legos? Just yesterday, in fact, my husband and his brother were nearly giddy with the thought of all the Legos that are to come now that Sammy has entered the family! The Duplo set is perfect for kids 4-6, and the Road Construction set is sure to be a hit with kids four and over. And they can BOTH be YOURS, if you’re the lucky winner!

And finally…

As though all of those products aren’t enough, I’ve saved the biggest prize for last… a huge gift basket of imaginative play toys from Target valued at $150!

This fun gift basket includes a Green Toys Indoor Gardening Kit, a Play Wonder Cookies Play Set, a Play Wonder Melamine Dinnerware Play Set, a Blue Orange Toys Bingory, an Ecogear Organic Cotton Ecozoo Bag Puppy (seriously, have you ever seen anything so cute??), and Alex Beep Beep Stickers for the Tub… all nicely packaged in a Michael Graves Design Bin.

WOW!!!

Say it with me…. “Christmas shopping – done!!”

Jenny and I are so excited to be offering such a great giveaway to our readers! A huge thanks to all of the generous companies that are participating in today’s giveaway.

This giveaway is now closed. Congratulations to our winner, Kristyn!

We lived through Black Friday

Although when we were standing in line at Kohl’s, I was beginning to wonder if we were going to make it! The checkout line was wrapped halfway around the store. By the time we left, we were pretty much BFF with all the people in line around us. People were pushing each other’s carts, holding one another’s place in line while someone ran back to get just one more thing… it was kind of neat!

We didn’t hit the stores at 4a.m. or anything, but we did head out around 8:30. We went to Penney’s, two Targets, and Kohl’s… and we are nearly done Christmas shopping! I am pretty pumped about that. I’ve got a few more things to get online, but that should do it.

Yesterday, I took advantage of Best Buy’s Black Friday sale online and bought a surprise present for Andy… I won’t tell you about it on the off chance he stumbles upon Mommin It Up, but I am excited about it!

I am curious to hear about you crazies who stood in line in the middle of the night, and any awesome deals you got. Who has a good Black Friday story?

It’s Thanksgiving

and I am feeling quite thankful.

It’s Sammy’s first Thanksgiving. It’s hard to imagine that at this time last year, he was kicking my ribs floating around in my belly, but I didn’t know a thing about him. Now, this year, I have a feeling that he’s going to spend Thanksgiving day finally mastering the skill he’s been working on for a few weeks – crawling.

Which means we’re going to spend our Thanksgiving day baby-proofing the house. Because this kid? He’s into everything.

Crazy and curious as he might be, he is amazing. And his big sister is pretty great too. We have a warm place to live, plenty of food on the table, and a lot of love. Really, what more could we ask for?

Have a very, very happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
