We lived through Black Friday

Although when we were standing in line at Kohl’s, I was beginning to wonder if we were going to make it! The checkout line was wrapped halfway around the store. By the time we left, we were pretty much BFF with all the people in line around us. People were pushing each other’s carts, holding one another’s place in line while someone ran back to get just one more thing… it was kind of neat!

We didn’t hit the stores at 4a.m. or anything, but we did head out around 8:30. We went to Penney’s, two Targets, and Kohl’s… and we are nearly done Christmas shopping! I am pretty pumped about that. I’ve got a few more things to get online, but that should do it.

Yesterday, I took advantage of Best Buy’s Black Friday sale online and bought a surprise present for Andy… I won’t tell you about it on the off chance he stumbles upon Mommin It Up, but I am excited about it!

I am curious to hear about you crazies who stood in line in the middle of the night, and any awesome deals you got. Who has a good Black Friday story?

  1. My mom and I do it each year. Mostly to just have fun together, but we do get some shopping done.

I blogged about it this morning, go check it out!

    What’d you get at Kohls?

  2. My BFF and I went to Walmart at 5 and got some great deals. A couple of the things we wanted were already gone, but we got a lot of great Christmas presents.

I have to admit I was scared to go, especially when we had to park in a whole different store’s parking lot and walk to the store. But, it wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought. Everyone was pretty nice!

  3. My mother and I went to the Black Friday sales, and we had so much fun. We have been doing this together for the last 8 years, so it has kind of became a tradition. I tried to convince my fiance to go with me, but he said only crazy people get up at the crack of dawn to go shopping. Little did I know, he went to Wal-Mart to get me a Flip Video camcorder. So, he just ruled himself out of being the only “sane” one in our house. LOL I hope you and your family had a good Thanksgiving.

  4. UGH – Black Friday! That sums up what I think about that hateful day. See, I manage a leading sporting goods retailer’s website and its absolutely a crazy work day for me! This past friday was the same as all the past BFs. More traffic, sales, IT issues, the whole nine yards. Maybe one day I will be an actual shopper on black friday!

But glad to hear you are almost finished your shopping. That’s great!
