Holiday Giveaway Bash: Win a 13-piece cookware set from Better Homes and Gardens!

We’re at it again – this is the first of TEN giveaways we’ll be posting today and tomorrow… stay tuned, you don’t want to miss any of them!

I don’t know a lot about cookware (although I am learning!), so when I go to buy it, I always look for a brand I recognize. Few brands are more recognizable (and affordable) than Better Homes and Gardens – and we’re giving away one of their Non-Stick Hard-Anodized 13-piece cookware sets!

The set includes:
— 1.5 QT covered sauce pan
— 2.5 QT covered sauce pan with steamer insert
— 4 QT covered dutch oven
— 8.5 inch skillet
— 10 inch skillet
— 8 QT covered stock pot
— 4 QT covered deep skillet.

I have to say, out of all of those pieces I was most excited about the stock pot! In my (perhaps a little too thorough) recent kitchen organization spell, I got rid of the three stock pots I had. All of them were awful, and the last time I made mac and cheese in one of them there were black flecks in the food. YUCK. However, I have discovered that stock pots are pretty much a necessity around the kitchen, so I was thrilled to receive this high-quality one!

I was also intrigued by the dutch oven. I wasn’t sure what it was for, so of course I googled it. It turns out you can use it for just about anything. I am going to use it to try out a new family favorite – chicken tortilla soup.

Better Homes and Gardens also offers cookware in tri-ply stainless steel and non-stick porcelain enamel.

  2. I am already a FB fan and have been an Emily fan since the 1980’s, lol. I too have the black flecks from my pans in anything i make… try explaining that to four kids who won’t eat anything yucky looking! I really need new pots pans but haven’t been able to save for them due to the holiday/birthday season! I have three girls and one boy that would LOVE to learn to cook using these pots and pans!

  5. I think of their magazine. I didn’t know until recently at Wal-Mart what a huge line of stuff they carry. It’s all gorgeous!

  10. My third daughter was born 6 weeks before Christmas, and I LOVED snuggling up with her in the middle of the night (when the rest of the house was quiet), and poring over my Better Homes and Gardens magazines, getting fantastic ideas for a most wonderful Christmas!

  26. When I hear Better Homes and Garden, I think of the magazine. The magazine usually has some great decorating ideas.

    If I had those pans, I might consider cooking dinner in them. Our pans are old and nearly everything sticks to them so I don’t cook too much. Everything that I cook either goes in the oven or the crockpot.

  31. When I think of BHG, I think of my oven mits! 🙂 A friend of mine gave me oven mits from their line last year! They’re really cute and I just love them! I’d love some new cookware from them since it’s really gross to have bacon half cooked because the center of my skillet has buckled up… gross….

  35. i would love this cookware. mine was a wedding gift almost 27 years ago. i think i might be due for some new! i love to make soups and stews in the wintertime.

  36. When I think of Better Homes & Gardens I think of the best pancake recipe from my grandmother’s old copy of the BHG cookbook, you know which still uses things like lard as ingredients! We make those pancakes almost every weekend and sometimes for dinner too (though not with lard!)!
