Few things make me happier than FREE DIAPERS!

Yesterday afternoon I DID get out to Rite Aid!  There are tons of deals there this week but the one I wanted most I couldn’t wait for. I hauled the kids to Rite Aid and got this:

Misty Terry-Cloth Memories

This weekend Bobby and the kids and I went to Indianapolis for our nephew James’ 3rd birthday.  It was really fun spending the day with Bobby’s sister and her husband and James as well as his little brother Joel, who is 8 months old.  Before we left my brother-in-law Dave started pulling some boxes of baby clothes out for us, which I was excited about because I’d long ago given most of Joshua’s clothes away…to them, when James was born.  Still, I didn’t expect to find much of Joshua’s wardrobe in the boxes.  I mean, said clothes are now over six years old and have been worn by THREE boys!

But the first thing I saw when I opened the first box was a blue terry-cloth Carter’s sleeper I immediately recognized as Joshua’s.  And then another, and another – three right on top!  I am kind of a “Carter’s snob” – I love to have my babies pretty much cloaked in nothing but their first year.  And those terry-cloth and fleece sleepers are the best for all my cold-weather-born kiddos.

Cozy Joshua in one of the recently rediscovered sleepers, 2004

I cooed and oohed over them – I couldn’t believe it!  They brought back such memories of my first baby boy.  He was such a sweet, sweet baby.

And now I’ll have another sweet baby boy, and he’ll get to wear some of the same cozy, fuzzy things his big brother wore.  Things I thought I’d never see again.  Of course he’ll have some new things of his own, and clothes handed down from friends worn by other sweet baby boys, but I’m glad he’ll have some items from his big brother, too.  I can’t wait to see him in them!

Paper Product Palooza at CVS

Well today’s sabbath shopping was not quite as peaceful as last Sunday’s.  Mostly, ok, COMPLETELY because I had two kids with me who would’ve rather been somewhere else!  My husband had a sailboat race today and could not perform his fatherly duty of watching the kids while I shopped! But oh well, I would not be deterred.  Although I do need to give them some chill out at home time before I drag them to Rite Aid.

My nicest, most favoritest cashier James was on hand at CVS today so I did two transactions even though I had a fussy Sophie, because James is totally patient.  So that was good.  Here’s what I got and how I broke it down:
DSC02220

Transaction #1:

Neutrogena Men’s shave cream $5.49

Neutrogena Men’s face lotion $6.99

Neutrogena Men’s aftershave $6.99

(somebody’s husband REALLY likes Neutrogena for men and was almost out!)

Blink eye drops $7.99

total = $27.46

coupons:

$5/$25 CVS email coupon

$1 off blink printable from redplum.com

total =$21.46

I paid with $18.49 in ECB, paif $2.97 + $1.51 tax for $4.48 in cash and got back 5 ECB for the Neutrogena and $7.99 for the Blink. (Side-rant: the Neutrogena deal was buy $15, get 5 ECB -very annoying that the two products Bobby needed were $6.99 so I was 2 cents short of $15 and had to buy the shave cream as well! Oh well. He will use it all.)

2nd transaction:

Two Charmin $9.99 each (you MAY have heard me mention that I procure Charmin Ultra Strong for my very picky, hairy, weirdo brother) $29.98

Six Puffs $.99 each $5.95

total = $25.93

coupons: 25 cents off Charmin (I know. Pathetic!)

total = $25.68, paid with my 5 and 7.99 ECB from the previous transaction and paid $12.68+$1.82 tax for a total of $14.50 and got back 10 ECB for the Puffs/Charmin combined.

So my total spent today was $18.98 but I had 10 ECB to take home, not bad for some expensive shaving products and “special”  toilet paper! 🙂

Can’t wait to hit Rite Aid next!  What did you get at CVS this week??
