Suave Sunday

DSC02189

I was excited when I saw that Suave products were on ECB at CVS this week for three reasons:

1) I keep my friend Tosh supplied with her favorite shampoo & conditioner, Suave Professionals Humectant, and I had a coupon for a FREE bottle!  2) I keep my hairy, manly, loves-to-shoot-animals-with-guns-and-eat-them brother, Andy supplied with his favorite girly, womanly, feminine deodorant, Suave 24 hour POWDER.  That’s right ladies, it’s strong enough for a manly man!  3) I am a huge nerd.

So – since there were also Suave coupons in today’s paper I was even more excited.

And then I got to the store.  I went on my way to church, which meant I wasn’t going to my regular store, which turned out to be a major bummer because at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday they only had ONE deodorant left!  The cashier said, “Is there any of that left on the shelf?”  I said, “No, I got the last one.”  She sighed and said that a lady had been waiting outside the store before they opened and came in and bought a TON of Suave deodorants and then complained that they didn’t have more. GRR!! People!! It’s not cool to CLEAR THE SHELVES!  I just wanted a couple more!  Arrgh.  Anyways, I had to adjust my deal a bit.  So here’s what I did:

4 Suave Kids shampoos (I love these for my kids and yes I DID leave some on the shelf!)  and 2 Professional shampoo/conditioner $10

Suave deodorant $1.25

Papermate pens .99

total = $12.24

Coupons:

– 50 cents Suave deodorant from today’s Red Plum insert

– $3 FREE bottle of Suave (it said up to $3 so cashier took $3 off, wasn’t that nice?)

-.50 off any two Suave Kids shampoos from today’s Red Plum insert

=$8.24

I paid with 6 ECB, and with tax paid $3.10 cash and got back $3.99 ECB, 3 for the Suave and .99 cents for the papermate pens.  The Suave deal is a limit of two, so if I can get my hands on more coupons, I might try another store to get my stinky brother a couple more girl deodorants!

What did you buy today?

  1. yay, I am so glad that I waited to go to CVS. Altho we get our Red Plum insert in the mail, so I wonder if there is also one in the paper, going to my mom’s later to get coupons from her paper as I was in my jammies when I dropped off Giggles this morning so I couldn’t get my own and on the way back home they were all out of papers.

    I really should get the paper, but I really want to get better at couponing first before I make that year long commitment.

  2. I bought two of the John Frieda products, one of the papermate pens, one of the caliber scissors, and one frito cheese dip. I used two $2.50 off John Frieda products coupon (signed up on their site) and used $10 ECB’s. I paid 55 cents and got back $6.98 in ECB’s (5 for John Frieda products, 99 cents for pens, and 99 cents for scissors!!)
