Perspective

So, there’s a lot of devastation in our country today. People whose homes have been lost, people whose children have been lost. It’s difficult to comprehend. I really don’t know what to say about it, and the post I had planned to write about the house plant that I keep in a state of purgatory hovering between life and death seems like a waste of breath (although I can’t promise I won’t write it next week when I have nothing else to say).

In unrelated news, but really, it’s kind of related, I saw this video yesterday, and I wanted to pass it along. It’s long, but it’s worth it.

  1. Emily, watching this documentary was the most amazing experience I have had in a long time. My beautiful cousin, Kevin, had osteosarcoma. He passed away about 11 years ago. He too smiled constantly and lived life to the fullest. There were so many people at his funeral that people were in the parking lot.

Zach lived such an amazing life! He was so full of love and joy! My teens need to watch this. We ALL need to watch this to remind ourselves about the really important things in life: our family, relationships, expressing love, truly experiencing joy, having fun, not being afraid to love because we may lose someone…

Thank you so very much for posting this today!

May beautiful Zach rest in peace,

    Cate Pane
