My Girl.

Tonight when I finally got home from Kate’s swim meet zomg it was almost 10:00 and picked up my computer, Photo Booth was up on the screen. For those of you who are PCs, Photo Booth is Mac’s software that uses the computer’s camera to take pictures and put crazy effects on them. Kate’s always messing around with Photo Booth, and I’ve never paid a whole lot of attention to the pictures and videos she takes, but tonight I happened to flip through them, and let me tell you – I was cracking up.

The videos are hysterical – they are like iCarly meets the Blair Witch Project.

Because I am not talented enough to figure out how to post the videos, pictures will have to do. Here are a few of Kate’s self-portraits that I found.

The girl’s not short on personality. I loved finding Kate’s photos and videos not only for my own (and your) entertainment, but because they so perfectly capture who she is. They are so very Kate, and I’m glad to have that on record.

I love that girl!

Sleeplessness

Ever have one of those nights when you are really tired and really need to sleep because you’ve got a really busy week ahead of you… but you just can’t sleep?

Yeah, I am having one of those moments right now.

It’s 4:21 a.m. and I’ve been up for about an hour and a half. My alarm is going to go off an hour and a half from now, and I have an extremely busy day at work tomorrow (today, I suppose) which will be capped off by a swim meet in the evening.

I really need to get some sleep. So why am I up?

I’ve been laying in bed worrying about everything under the sun. Some things are real, relevant concerns, some things are illogical and unlikely and not worth losing sleep over.

Most of all, I’m so worried about not getting any sleep that I can’t sleep.

I think I might finally be cracking up.

So, I guess I’ll head off to bed once again and add “probably cracking up” to my list of things to worry about.

The Big 1-0

Today is our 10th wedding anniversary.

I’m writing this on a lounge chair on the beach – we are celebrating by spending a week in Cabo.

Ok, that’s not true. I’m writing this on my couch, and we are celebrating by going out to dinner.

Ah, the glamorous lives of parents of small children.

Anyway, we have been really excited about our anniversary for the last couple of weeks, and it’s been fun to think back and reminisce about our wedding. We absolutely loved our wedding – it was the perfect day, really.

But as happy as we were then, we are even happier now. Which makes me really, uh, happy.

Yeah, so enough with the sap.

I will leave you with the sage words of wisdom Jenny bestowed upon me regarding our anniversary:

“just don’t play trivial pursuit and then get knocked up like i did”
