We’re giving away a four pack of tickets (more on that for a minute) – but everyone can get free tickets (and do some good) by taking part in the Royal Princess Dress Drive hosted by Clothes that Work. Clothes that Work is a Dayton-area non-profit that provides interview clothing and image coaching to men, women and teens. They’re asking Dayton-area residents to help local high school girls attend their school proms by donating a new or gently used formal dress, which will then be distributed to the girls in March. For each dress donated, the donor will receive one free ticket voucher to Disney on Ice presents Treasure Trove opening night performance on Thursday, October 18th. The Royal Princess Dress Drive will be held this Saturday, September 22, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Clothes that Work (1133 S. Edwin C. Moses Blvd, Ste. 392, Dayton).

We hope you’ll participate in the Dress Drive – if you’re like us, you’ve got a couple bridesmaids dresses laying around that could be put to good use! To enter our giveaway, leave a comment on this post about your prom experience! The giveaway will close on Sunday, September 23 and a winner will be chosen at random. Good luck!

  1. i’m one of those poor sad saps that never got to got to prom 🙁 i wasn’t exactly what you’d call popular in h.s. lol

  2. My prom was held at the Dayton Convention Center. Went with my then-boyfirend (now-husband), and wore a two piece black dress that OF COURSE the girl I hated more than anything happened to be wearing also…I think I still have the dress, actually…only 12 years later…does that mean I need to clean out my closet??

  3. My school did not have a prom. we had a JR/SR banquet! :o) I never had a date but I had so much fun with my friends!

  4. My ultra conservative parents wouldn’t allow me to go to prom because (*gasp*) there would be dancing there!

Probably why I still like looking at prom dresses in shops even now!

  5. I would love to go back and do prom over again without any of my teenage insecurities. It would be WAY more fun.

  6. Prom…didn’t go junior year. Didn’t have a boyfriend, and didn’t want to waste the $$ on a dumb boy I didn’t like. Senior year, I went with this crazy boy who thought I was his one and only. And this year I only wanted a date, because I was moving on to bigger and better college boys in a few months. He brought me a dozen roses AND a corsage. Then, he wouldn’t let me out of his sight the entire evening. He’s in all my pictures of me with girlfriends, and has these crazy eyes staring at me. Rudy, that was one evening I’ll never forget because of you. And not in a good way. I couldn’t wait to get home! No after party for me!

  7. Had fun at my senior prom. Went with a friend. Remember having a track meet the following day and being so tired.

  8. My boyfriend was a year younger than me so I had to go to prom with him his senior year and my freshman year in college. I really didn’t know his friends that well and really didn’t know his friend’s date. Unfortunately when his friend and the friend’s date show up at his house for pictures, she gets out of the car and she has the exact same dress on as me. We were both mortified the entire night. It was just a double date so we didn’t even have a crowd of people to hide in until we got to the actual prom. I should have seen this as a sign that the realtionship was going to be a distaster because it was!

  9. Here’s something funny – I’m actually THAT girl who went to prom with her COUSIN!!! True story! It was actually HIS junior prom (he was a year older than me but we went to the same school) and his date dumped him the morning of the prom. He already had his tux and the tickets were paid for, so he asked if I wanted to go (just for funzies and something to do). I ended up going and we had a ball! We kinda hung around with the same people at school anyway, so it was just a bunch of friends hanging out, but all these years later it still makes for a funny story! “Remember the time we went to prom together?…” hahaha
