Mary Kay Redefining Elegance Collection

I loooves me some makeup, but only if that makeup is Mary Kay.  For four years, MK is the only makeup that’s touched my face!  And I love it even more when they let me review their great products.  Last week they sent me some of the limited-edition products from their Redefining Elegance Collection to review.  Here’s what I tried!

Filigree Eye and Cheek Powder

This Filigree Eye & Cheek powder is a complete palette for your face! It’s blush and three complementary eye colors all in one.  These pretty colors are infused with gold flecks for extra shimmer.  They look great 0n and it’s convenient to have everything together in one palette.

Luxury Liner

I love this Luxury Liner! It’s a liquid liner that goes on super-smooth.  It’s not drippy or runny at all. Goes on great, stays on, doesn’t smudge – love it.  I tried the plum color and it’s so pretty and different.

Lip Suede

This Lip Suede is different from most Mary Kay lipstick I’ve tried, but I really like it!  “Suede” is an accurate name, it feels very smooth and velvety.  The color is great and it stays on really well.   The matte look is very sophisticated, great for day or evening.

I love when Mary Kay brings out these limited edition collections!  These items really complement my “normal” Mary Kay favorites!  Check them all out on Mary Kay’s website.

Frantic about Five

In 23 days, this little girl will  be five.

FIVE. Years old.

I can hardly believe it.  And, it totally freaks me out.  For a long time, I thought she would always be my baby. Not just because she’s my kid, but because I thought she’d be my last. So, Jonah changed all that, but I still feel very reluctant for Sophie to get so old. I’m having a hard time letting her get there.

Sophie’s developmental delays have necessitated that she and I spend a lot (and I mean A.LOT. ) of time one-on-one.  (And I don’t want to brag but a certain almost-five-year-old scored “advanced” on the school readiness test they gave her in September at preschool. WHAT UP!?) And so over the past 13 months or so we’ve grown super-tight.  No one can melt my heart quicker or make my blood boil faster than my Sophie can.  And I think if an almost-five-year old could express such sentiments, she’d say the same about me.  We bring out the best and the fiercest in each other.

She’s had a banner year and I am SO proud of her.  But I still want her to stay four for at least another six months!

FIVE? My heart can’t take it!

My VapoBaby

I am happy to announce that once again this year I am proud to be on board as a Vicks Blogger!  As you know from reading my prior posts, I am a big fan of Vicks VapoRub and have been since I was a child.  For me, Vicks VapoRub is synonymous with comfort.  And hopefully, my kids will feel the same way about the product, since I use it on them every time they have a cold and cough.  And thanks to this great product, Vicks BabyRub,

I have gotten Jonah started early on the Vicks love!  Neither of my other babies ever got sick before they were a year old.  I gave credit for this to my fabulous breast milk immunities.  But even though Jonah’s drinking from the same fountain, if you will, he’s gotten sick a few times already – including Hand, Foot, & Mouth disease and TWO colds!  Thankfully for those colds that came with yucky coughs, I could soothe his coughing with Vicks BabyRub.  There just aren’t really any cold medications that are safe to give an infant, baby BabyRub is made specifically to soothe the cough of little ones 3 months and older. It’s non-medicated and soothes with lavendar, eucalyptus, and rosemary.  I love that familiar comforting VapoRub smell! It’s been so helpful to my little baby guy when he’s been sick.  BabyRub helps get my Vicks VapoBaby back to his cheerful self!

My VapoBaby

Isn’t he a cute little VapoBaby!  You know I’m a VapoMom!  Over the years Moms have been at the forefront of the Vicks VapoRub brand, but on this coming Tuesday, October 26th, Vicks will be announcing the first ever VapoDad!  He’s a celebrity and dad of two who a lot of you probably see on Sundays. 🙂  So stay tuned to Vicks’ Facebook page on Tuesday to find out who it is!
